Day 86

I could not get a good picture of Logan wearing his "watch Logan grow" onesie. But it says 17 months. 25.4 pounds. 32 1/2 inches. The kid finally had his 15 month well baby at 17 months. When we went for a recheck yesterday I practically begged them to do the well baby since he was finally well enough to receive shots. The kid gained 1 1/2 pounds in the 6 days since he had been there!! He received a clean bill of health and we will return in 6 weeks for his 18 month well baby.
March is over!!! Where did it go? It does not seem real that Daddy has been deployed for 3 months now. So the above picture his Emma crossing the last month of March. This is a nightly thing she looks forward to.

More Pics from our trip to the Zoo!!
Today was a easy peasy day at home. Nothing new to report today. Tune in for Logan's updated well baby stats and a onesie picture tomorrow!!

Day 84

What a fast 3 days that was with Grandpa Kevin. We had to take Grandpa back to the airport this morning. But we had so much fun and Emma has told me a couple times today that she misses him already:( Thank you Kevin for all you did around the house and the relief you gave me. It was so nice to take a nap in the afternoon and I truly enjoyed my long run day.
Today was a busy morning. But we all had some quiet time that ended up with a friend and her kids coming over for Pizza. I really enjoyed the company and the kids had a blast, Thank you Rasheedah!!!
So it is about 11PM already, for some reason I am awake working on misc. stuff. Logan has woken up twice tonight. After the 3rd time I grabbed the bottle of Motrin assuming he must be teething. I went into his room and gave him the Motrin and tried to lay him down again, which normally works. He continued to cry so I picked him up thinking I will just rock him a little. And he arched his back and threw his woobie and Binky. So I let him down. He cried all the way down the stairs right up to the sink. The poor kid was thirsty. He drank 1/2 a cup of water and is now asleep now. Poor kid. Now Emma is coming down saying "I don't like my room". I have a feeling it might be a long night. Gramie you better hurry, I need some sleep:)

Day 83

Today we took Grandpa to the Zoo. I decided we should take the wagon not thinking that Logan likes to push and pull things. The kid was so distracted by this silly wagon he screamed and cried pretty much the whole time we were there because I would not let him out. Emma had a pretty good time once she got over the whiny about a snack moment. We finally ended up at the end where Emma enjoyed the playground. The above clip is of her wearing Grandpa out by chasing him. Logan wanted nothing to do with the park so instead sat in the wagon eating (go figure) After he completed most of his snack I was able to get him to talk with me a bit.

Day 82

We had a nice easy day around the house today. It was nice to play with the kids and even get in a little nap while Logan slept and Emma and Grandpa watched a movie. I even got in a nice long phone call with Matt, he is doing well. We did make it to the park, it was about 54 and sunny today. Tonight, I am still tired and curled up on the couch about to watch the new show In the Motherhood that was on last night.

Day 81

We had a super busy day today. It started early at 5:30 AM for me. I am still working on P90X doubles. So after 1 hour and 45 minutes of working out with Logan playing nearby Grandpa and Emma woke up and we got the day started. After a quick Dr. Appointment for me (I have dermatitis on my wrist) we picked up Emma's Little Caesers Pizza Fundraiser Order and headed home for Lunch. Thankfully, Logan got in a got 2 hour nap before the busy crazy day started. We made stops at Home Depot, Dicks Sporting Goods, Sam's, Walmart, and then onto Dinner. After a quick bit at the PX we met up with some of the other girls from the Company to make Single Soldier Easter Bags for Matt's Company. Grandpa was nice enough to send 90 minutes with Logan and about 6 other kids in the playroom. We finally called it a night and made it home with enough time for Grandpa to wrestle with Logan and waltz up the stairs with Emma. The kids are having a BLAST!!! And Grandpa has already completed a few of my small annoying fixer up jobs that needed to be done. I and I think Grandpa are looking forward to a easy day at home tomorrow:)

Day 80

We had a couple highlights to our day today. The first cool thing we did was a Post Office Tour with the Mom's Club. Yesterday Logan and Emma colored a post card for Matt so they would have some mail for today. We had a blast with our friends. After lunch and nap time we got ready to go pick up Grandpa Kevin from the airport. We are very excited to spend some time with Grandpa!!

Day 79

Today we attended Emma's little play at school. the kids Sang "We are the Dinosaurs" and then did 3 short plays. Emma had a part in 2 of them. It was too cute. Please check facebook for a few videos!!

Day 78

The pretty princess. This picture was taken on Saturday, our last day on the incubation period.(we were climbing the walls:)) Emma wanted to do her make-up so I said what the heck. And then she put on the dress that has only come off at night (That was 3 days ago) . She even asked if I could wash it AGAIN tonight so she can wear it to school. This year we are definitely getting use out of her Easter Dress.
Today was Emma and Mommy Day. It started at the Dentist and she did GREAT!!! She loved the attention and talking about the sugar bugs and her clean sparkly teeth. We then set out to play miniature golf but it was closed. (Maybe a Grandpa Kevin thing) so we were bowling and then did a little shopping. I really enjoyed this time with Emma and she enjoyed being silly at the bowling alley and being a big girl shopping. She had her wallet and all her "credit cards" that she had to show the cashiers. Letting Emma regress a little and letting myself be silly was just what was needed for the both of us!!

Sunday, March 22, 2009

Day 77

Today was a good fun filled reminder of how Blessed we are. Emma and I attended a little friends birthday party. This friend has been one of our friends since the girls meet at swim lessons shortly after we moved here. This friend is also friends with a few families from our church. It was so nice to be around these women today. The treme of the party for Monsters Inc. We even got a goody bag for Logan and the pic above is of him enjoying one of the treats:)
I have asked a few of you for prayers for a Soldier and I would like you to continue praying hard. On Wednesday a Soldier in our unit was accidentally shot. He is now paralysed from the waist down and has had to have 1 kidney and 1/2 of his colon removed. He is now at Walter Reed with his wife and parents. Please pray God will work a miracle here. His wife is a wondrous Godly women who remains very strong in her faith. Please pray for this family.

Day 76

The kids were climbing off the walls this morning. I left the hide a bed out thinking that we could make it a movie day but Logan could not handle the excitement and either wanted to climb the pillows to get to the top of the couch or agitate his sister. It was not long before the hide a bed was put away.

One of my kids favorite snacks is frozen waffles. This started when Emma was a babe and teething and I carried it onto Logan has he began teething. It has now stuck and tends to be the morning snack.

Day 75

We have had a couple rough days. I was sick with the flu yesterday. Thankfully, Emma did pretty good. She totally takes advantage of any time she can watch movie after movie after movie and help herself to snack after snack after snack. Logan, however; did not get the memo that you are supposed to be good when Mommy is super sick. The kid is a terror and he did not let up yesterday. To give him a little credit he is not feeling all that well himself.
The above picture is my last attempt at giving him lunch. After he did not want the pizza I gave him peaches and instead of eating them he choose to pile them up on his cup all the while laughing at his accomplishment!!
So between all this sickness we have had Emma has been the one that has not really had much going on. So I really was not surprised when I heard a "mama" at 3 AM. Poor thing made it to her doorway before she let it go. Seeing her so confused, sick, and sad about made me cry. She really did not understand why her tummy felt the way it did and why she kept getting sick. So I set her up in my bed (after I changed the sheets from her 2nd trip to the bathroom) to watch the Fresh Prince of Bel-air. I thankfully, I fell asleep because it was not long before Logan wanted in on this cuddling family bed I seem to be creating.

Day 74

Sick Sick Sick- I am so tired of having a sick household:)

Wednesday, March 18, 2009

Day 73

Logan is sick AGAIN!! He know has bronchitis. I am so getting tired of taking him to the doctor once a week. Not to mention the kid is almost 17 months old and has been unable to have a 15 month well baby because he is never well enough!!!
So after we canceled all the plans for the day I thought Emma might enjoy a little baking. So we made Pretty Pink Puffs. (AKA Meringues) Emma really did not enjoy using the mixer so much. She did good for a few minutes and then started to say it was hurting her. So after I got them all set up I had her decorate the with heart candies, she totally dug that. And it made a good incentive to get her to eat a few extra bites for dinner.

Tuesday, March 17, 2009

Day 72

We had a busy busy Tuesday. After I took the kids to hourly I was able to run some errands and get some much needed quite time. I even got in a 3 mile run, it was so nice to run outside again!!

After I picked up the kids we headed to Friendly's with some good friends. Friendly's is a burger and ice cream family fun restaurant. Emma really enjoyed hanging out with her friends and Logan enjoy crackers!! Seriously!! The kids got some 3D glasses and I thought what a more perfect picture:)

Monday, March 16, 2009

Day 71

Today was a great day!! The temperature was about 50 and so sunny. First thing at 8 AM (it was still 21) I opened the windows and got busy cleaning. It felt so good to have a clean fresh crisp house. However, at 2 PM, it was about 45 out but 60 in the house. So I had to shut the windows and turn the heat back on. Emma was bundled up on the couch with a big blanket.

Yesterday I took Emma and Logan to the commissary with me. Our first stop was the produce area. Emma had already picked out her special Easter candy filled fan and was telling everybody about it. At one point I asked Emma to help me get Oranges, try as she did she could not reach them. There was another man nearby who was getting oranges that she stuck up a conversation with. The man was saying how Oranges will make you big and strong and she looked and him and said " Like Jesus?" and then turned to me. I wanted to cry and said yes "Yes Emma, just like Jesus big and strong".

I wanted to share this special moment with you all. Daily God does some special things in my life. Some days he sends me trials to over come and some days he sends me sweet little reminders of his constant love for us. Without God in my life right now I know I would be dipper in this pit. With God I am constantly being pulled up and shown the light. Praise God with me!!

Sunday, March 15, 2009

Day 70

We had a great day today!! It was the perfect easy lazy morning. While Logan napped and Emma watched some cartoons, I made a 2 week menu and got the grocery list organized. I decided I would be brave and take both kids to the commissary.
We went into it very positive. We talked about helping Mommy put the items in the basket, getting a special treat, and having a special play date. We were there nearly an hour and she had to walk the whole time and did great. I was so proud and excited that I completed such a dreaded task.
Unfortunately, our play date was not available so instead we headed to McDonald's for ice cream. The local McDonald's has a small kids area with video games and toys. The video game Emma is playing, is a picture game and you have to find the 5 differences. She had so much fun, we will so be going back again soon to have some Mommy and Emma time.

Saturday, March 14, 2009

Day 69

Today was the YMCA Shamrock 5 mile race. I was so super excited to run this race. It had been so long since I had ran outside. Last night I downloaded a new play list, found my arm band, my garmin, and my fanny pack. A few days ago I splurged on a new workout outfit. I was ready and I felt great when I finished. I wanted to finish in the 48 minute time frame but I am satisfied to have finished in 50:10 minutes. I had a blast, my lungs were on fire, my heart was beating fast and my hip flexors were killing me but it was all worth it.

The Army 10 miler is in October and on April 1st I will be signing up for it. The next race will be a 10K(6.2 miles) on Mat 2nd and I think I will start researching a marathon I can run right after Matt gets back from Afghanistan.

Friday, March 13, 2009

Day 68

We have had a rather easy peasy day. We went to a mom's club activity after Emma's school. Emma has been in a bit of a funk and wanted to leave after only 30 minutes. So we headed to Taco Bell for lunch and continued with the few errands I had to run.

This afternoon was one of those ahhhh, afternoon's. Emma and I took 2 hour naps and Logan took a 4 hours nap!!! It was nice to lay on the couch and watch TV while I cat napped.

A lot of the snow has melted here. We still have about 6 inches or so but I think it is on it's way out the door this season. After the grill was buried for so long it is ready to be used. Tonight we enjoyed so marinated Pork chops. We love us so bbq here!!

Tonight's movie was Problem Child and I think we will watch Problem Child 2 next. And then Look who's talking next week. I am so loving the Netflix watch instantly and stream through the XBOX!! So cool:)

Day 67

This evening we got together with a few of my Battle Buddies and their kids. We went to a restaurant on post and you would think they would be used to such a site. The site being 4 women and 9 children under the age of 7. They looked at us like we were NUTS!!! (which I thought we were too) All is all the evening was great. We did not arrive until 7 PM. Kresta and Heather had their FRG meeting so Katherine and I watched all of the children for them. (12 children- another crazy moment for us) So by the time we arrived at the restaurant all the children were hungry. So we ordered cheese and crackers as soon as we could. (15 minutes after arriving) At 7:45 we were starting to get a little agitated and they finally brought the cheese and crackers. The kids were being amazing!!! It was unbelievable. They were all drawing pictures and the 4 little ones were even being quite for the most part. (except Logan who wanted to eat NOW!!!) At 8:10 (1 hr 10 minutes after arriving) I went up to find were our food was. The adults were all hungry at this point and it was getting super late. They brought our food out within minutes. By 8:45 we were all in our vehicles and on our way home. Crazy as it was it was a great night, thanks to my battle buddies!!

Day 66

The Above picture was taken yesterday.

Today was a not so happy funny day. Both kids are sick AGAIN!! Both kids have ear infections and Logan has pink eye. I was dreading that one and did not even think about ear infections when I made the appointments. But I am happy they are both on antibiotics now, hopefully they will finally get rid of whatever bug is lingering.

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

Day 65

Not much new to report here. It was another easy but busy day. Logan and I took it slow and got some stuff done this AM. After nap time and lunch the kids went to hourly for a few hours while I had a appointment, then onto the Commissary to buy dinner stuff.

Tonight Emma helped me make Meatballs and Spaghetti. It was a recipe that was totally yummy with a very creamy cheesy sauce to put over the pasta. I totally dug it. Logan enjoyed it but enjoyed the Texas Toast more. Emma tried it and after eating her Texas Toast and 12 might of the meatball settled for plain spaghetti noodles.

I will try to get a good video of the kids tomorrow.

Day 64

We had a busy busy day today. We were up and out of the house early so I could get the kids to care and help Katie out a bit before I headed to a FRG Meeting. So by the time the kids and I got home we were all tired and a tad bit cranky.

For whatever reason I decided to try and fix the treadmill. The belt is loose or too tight or whatever, I don't know other then it is slipping and I cannot run on it:( This did happen right after we bought it and I tried to fix it to only finally have my hubby fix it.

Matt's step dad is coming to visit soon. I am not sure if he realized how much he had to do around here. He is coming in to spend a couple days with the kids and I am going to take advantage of his expertise and have a fix- it list ready for when the kids are sleeping. . Let's see what's all on it---- The toilet runs, the kitchen sink leaks, the jacuzzi jets need to be fixed, and NOW the treadmill is broke. Thank God Grandpa is coming to town!!

Day 63

Cuteness!! On Friday I finally had the kids haircuts. Emma really did not need one but we go to a cute little kids salon here and we always have her bangs trimmed and her hair trimmed a little. Logan so needed a good cut. This was Logan's 3rd haircut and he did great. It was so fun to sit and watch Little Thom transform and look more and more like Daddy.
We had a funky day. The kids slept until a little after 8 so we decided to attend the second service at church. After church we ate at Subway while we waited to meet up with Katie to help her move a little and to get her help taking the Jeep back to the Jeep doctor. (This time we are taking it to another place) We were going to have friends over for dinner but a few were unable to make it so we canceled all together and enjoyed a easy day at home.
I have decided I must start to set limits with my Internet time. I spend too much time on face book and have to many "must get done" tasks and will start to set limits. Please bare with me as I make adjustments to my new computer schedule. It has become clear to me I must make some changes in my priorities. My blog will not change as a daily "must get done" but I am going to give my self permission to do it a little later or a day late.

Saturday, March 7, 2009

Day 62

100th post- Holy Cow- do I talk a lot??

Today has been another really awesome day. We woke up a little later than normal at Katie's house and enjoyed a few hours before the baby-sitter came back to watch the kids. Katie and I headed out for an incredible breakfast and a little shopping.

I was wiped by the time we got back to the house around 1 PM and quickly packed the kids up to get home and down for naps. Emma took a 4 hour nap. And Logan cuddled with me on the couch until he fell asleep. It was a very nice afternoon.

Emma and I rounded off the nice day with a movie and cuddling. The movie tonight was Madeline and she loved it:)

Friday, March 6, 2009

Day 61

Friday was a super busy day. Logan was asleep when Emma came home from school so we decided to paint each other's toe nails. Too flippin fun.

We headed to my good friends house so she could watch the kids for a couple hours. I really did not have anything in particular to get done but it was nice to do the few hours of running around without the kids. As I was headed back I was trying to think of something else I could do to pass time and thought about ice skating but it had just closed, bummer!! I would have totally dug that.

Friday night was a much needed girls night and unfortunately I do not have any pics to show all the fun we had. One of my favorite restaurants (here in the North Country) is the Texas Road house for a couple margaritas and a juicy red steak so that is where we started the night. Then headed onto a totally relaxing a fun time at a martini bar. We ended the night at another bar shacking our groove thing. It was a wild and fun night. Maybe this time next year we can complete the entire night with our guys at our side:)

Day 60

Look at that title--- Day 60. WOWSA!! It feels good to think we have successfully thrived through 2 months of this deployment.
The picture is a recent photo of Matt having received a little bit of sun!! The Battalion now has new Catamount Tee's and Matt was super excited to have received his ( a little earlier then some) Matt seems to be doing fairly well. He is incredibly busy and that is good. He really enjoyed being super spoiled last week for his birthday and loves all the treats everyone sent. When Matt does have a little spar time he is enjoying a couple new series of shows that he has recently been introduced to as well as all the shows I record and burn for him. I personally want to thank you all for all your love, thoughts, and prayers. I know it means a great deal to Matt.

Wednesday, March 4, 2009

Day 59

We are starting to finally feel a little better around here. Logan had a rough morning but after sleeping most of the day he had a good evening. Let's just hope he sleeps through the night!! I don't think I heard Emma couch a whole lot.

I am gearing up for the YMCA Shamrock 5 Mile Run and thought I would test myself today. At the Y I made it 1/2 mile including my warm up in 6 minutes before I was told Logan just got sick. So after I got him home and down for a nap I ran another 4 1/2 miles in 44 minutes including my cool down. I am running around a 9 minute mile, I am sooo ready to get out there and do this. The next big run will be in October for the Army 10 miler. (And to see cousin Lisa)

There is nothing new to report. The above video is from the other day during snack time. Emma loves to cook so she really enjoyed spreading the peanut butter on the crackers. She is too funny. After she got all done she licked the peanut butter off the crackers and then proudly said "I am done".

Tuesday, March 3, 2009

DAY 58

We had a totally busy but incredibly fun day. The kids spent a couple hours in Day Care this afternoon so I could go to a appointment and have a few hours to myself. It felt so good to be free of them, the kids are also fighting colds so it was kind of nice to not be wiping a nose or saying "cover your mouth" every second.

After I picked the kids up we were invited to join some friends for Pizza and Bingo at the Winner's Circle on Post. They offer a pretty nice kid friendly buffet full of spaghetti (Logan's favorite), pizza, and chicken and fries. Then we played a few games of Bingo. Emma enjoyed just being near her friends. She really did not understand the game at all but I could tell she really enjoyed and needed to be around the young kids. Logan really was frustrated, he could not understand why I would not put him down. After her ate a few full plates I tried to let him down but he wanted to go back to the kitchen for more food. The fight ended with a trip back to the high-chair.

Monday, March 2, 2009

Day 57

Today has been a blahh day. I have not felt up to par, Logan is incredibly clingy and cranky, and Emma has a nasty cough and a funny voice.

The video is from Saturday at a birthday party for one of Emma's friends. Thank God another classmates mother was there to help me a little and watched Emma in the Party room while I took Logan to the playroom. I definitely learned my lesson and will always try my hardest to get a baby-sitter for Logan during these fun times for Emma.

Day 56

Yesterday we did another Lowe's Workshop. These are the coolest fun classes and they are free. We made race cars. The holes are pre-drilled so Emma is able to pound away very easily. While I made Logan's Emma put the stickers on her car. I think Logan looks pretty good with a hammer in his hand.
I am sorry to say it looks like we are all sick AGAIN!! Logan has a low grade fever and a nasty cough tonight and Emma has a cough. I thought I had a sour tummy because I had a rich sweet snack this afternoon but it is worse and my nose is running. We will be taking it super easy tomorrow and hopefully life will go on. I am tempted to keep us locked up in the house until winter is officially over. I am so tired of the sick for a week better for a week routine we seem to be on.
